The Word in the Wood

Posted on 30th April, 2019

After being viciously hacked by either an international secret service or a bored IT student, the Borehamwood 2000 website is back in full production. Packed to the seams with club info, read on and and find out about our small, but, perfectly formed youth football club!

After a stonking performance in the WFL League Cup, our U10s returned to League action last weekend. A mysterious, invisible haze hung over the venue sapping energy from the legs of our heroes, but, like Superman casting off the Kryptonite stone, they surged forward to secure a goal before half time; Luke crashing in a half volley from a lovely assist by Callum. The boys made several more good chances before the game's end and were unlucky not to score one or two more. A good performance all round and the prestigious MoM award deservedly went to Sammy.

U15 Girls played a friendly match at home and welcomed both new signings Christel and Jemma into the side for their first match action. After acclimatising in the first half, the team put in a strong performance second half and with more friendly action in the offing and a potential new signing too, the girls continues to gel and improve. Div 2 Runners Up and promoted to Div 1, they will represent the club and collect their trophies at Finals Day on 11th May. Very, very well done to them all.

After an astonishing run of winning form, our U14 Girls were just pipped away in the League last Saturday. No matter, the girls finish off the season with a double header next to try and secure the runners up spot and promotion. It's been a great effort from the staff and players and we wish them all the very best. Come on girls, you can do it!!

The U8s finished the season with another smashing performance. The boys gained promotion in March and have gone on to up their performances against better teams. Today our boys played really well with a great team spirit. Well done to all of you, all of you have improved so much over this season the club / parents and manager are so proud of what you have achieved. Ewan also scored his first goal for the club today.

Scorers: Dragos / Danny (2) & Ewan. MOM: Ewan.
