The Word in the Wood #6

Posted on 8th June, 2019

Time does fly and another club presentation has been and gone. The day was a great success, with an army of volunteers mobilising to give our players and parents an occasion to remember. With Ange working magic in the tea-hut, Julie & Tim serving up a grill bonanza, and Lisa and Nicole coordinating everything like Montgomery and Patten, things went smoother than a cashmere scarf!

On an emotional note, and after a decade of unstinting service to the club, Bruce Tillcock announced he was stepping down from his role as club Chairman. Family and work commitments meant Bruce needed to shuffle some of his many roles at the club and Lisa, our super Secretary, presented him with a lovely gift in recognition of all his selfless work over the years. Very happily for us all, Bruce will continue to fill some key roles at the club as well as managing his talented U9 Boys. Rather poetically, this team's outstanding season, where they enjoyed great success and were also promoted, saw them voted the club's team of the year. We look forward to seeing these tremendous youngsters develop in the future and have high hopes they will be bringing home much silverware too!

Registration is now complete though all teams are on the look out for one of two more players for the forthcoming season; don't hesitate to get in touch if you're interested?
